Young People Without Addictions: Psychoeducation for a Healthy Future

Young People Without Addictions: Psychoeducation for a Healthy Future is a project funded by the City of Radom.
The project is aimed at residents of Radom, with a particular focus on young people aged 13–19 and their parents and guardians. Its main goal is to increase awareness of addiction-related risks, develop skills for recognising and preventing addiction, and strengthen psychological support for families.
The project supports the objectives of the Civic Mental Health Promotion Programme for Children and Young People in Radom (Resolution No. XCVII/926/2023 of the Radom City Council, dated 29 May 2023), supporting preventive and educational activities focused on mental health.
Project Goals
Increase awareness among young people and parents of the risks associated with addiction.
Equip participants with practical tools for recognising and managing the risk of addiction.
Provide psychological support for young people and families.
Promote a healthy and informed lifestyle among Radom residents.
Project Activities
1. Specialist Support Sessions – 20 Hours
Regular consultations with a psychologist or psychotherapist for parents and young people at the Information and Education Centre at ul. Kilińskiego 21/20 in Radom.
The aim is to provide a safe space to talk about emotional difficulties and addiction-related risks, as well as to develop individual support plans.
2. Group Workshops for Young People – 12 Hours
Two groups of 10 participants will take part in workshops designed to develop emotional and social skills.
Topics will include assertiveness, coping with stress and peer pressure, and making informed decisions.
3. Group Workshops for Parents – 10 Hours
Educational sessions for parents covering contemporary addiction risks, communication with children and strengthening family relationships.
The sessions will take place at the centre at ul. Kilińskiego 21/20 and will provide an opportunity to share experiences and support one another.
4. “Healthy Future – Young People Without Addictions” Conference
An event for at least 50 participants, held at the Municipal Institute (Kamienica Deskurów) or the University of Applied Sciences in Radom.
The programme will include expert presentations, panel discussions involving young people, parents and specialists, good-practice presentations and Q&A sessions.
5. Information Campaign
Promotion of the project and addiction prevention activities through the Association’s social media channels.
The campaign aims to increase the project’s reach and connect with a wider group of young people and parents.

Improved ability to cope with pressure, stress and emotions.
Better communication within families.
Expanded local access to psychological support for Radom residents.
Greater cooperation between specialists, parents and young people around mental health issues.
Healthy Future – Young People Without Addictions is a comprehensive prevention initiative combining education, specialist support and community dialogue to effectively address addiction among young people in Radom.
