NGO Academy 2

Fundraising, crowdfunding, grants… Behind these increasingly familiar terms are some of the latest strategies for raising funds in the non-governmental sector. NGOs primarily focus on social impact and are not always able to generate sufficient income to support their staff and effectively achieve their goals. Understanding and using these strategies can help organisations build greater financial stability.
This was the experience of representatives from 18 NGOs in the Radom subregion, who took part in workshops and consultations from June to December as part of a project delivered by Podwórkowe Anioły Association and Kombinat Social Engagement Association and funded by … The project aimed to strengthen the capacity and effectiveness of non-governmental organisations.
Over several dozen hours of training, participants explored strategies for attracting donors and securing financial support through fundraising, raising funds online through crowdfunding, and preparing effective grant applications. NGO representatives also gained knowledge and practical skills in building an organisation’s public image.
Workshop participants were also offered six hours of individual consultations, giving them the opportunity to work directly with advisors and develop a tailored development pathway for their organisation.
“The meetings with the specialists were very practical and specific. We saw that there are real opportunities to achieve our goals,” said representatives of the Radomskie Foundation who took part in the project. “We will also be more proactive in looking for grant opportunities and preparing applications for funding.”
