Information & Education Centre: Get the Right Information
Our project responds to the growing mental health challenges faced by children and young people in Radom, who often lack information about where to seek help during a mental health crisis, as well as about mental health conditions and available treatment.
The main goal of the project is to improve access to up-to-date support services for children and young people up to the age of 19 from Radom who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
As part of the project, we will establish an Information & Education Centre (PIE) where parents, teachers, caregivers, professionals and young people from Radom will be able to receive initial support and information on how to effectively respond to mental and emotional health difficulties, as well as how and where to access professional mental health support locally.
The project will also include an information and education campaign addressing mental health conditions among children and young people and how to respond to them.
The project includes a range of mental health promotion and prevention activities aimed at children, young people, parents, teachers and the wider local community. These activities will:
increase awareness of emotional and mental health difficulties among Radom residents through the operation of the Information & Education Centre;
help children and young people better recognise emotional difficulties they may be experiencing themselves through educational activities;
enable parents to respond more effectively to mental health crises;
raise awareness within the local community of the scale of mental health challenges among children and young people through greater involvement of local media and the organisation of two mental health promotion initiatives in cooperation with other organisations and students from schools across Radom;
help challenge stereotypes surrounding mental health conditions;
create a coherent information system on available support services for children and young people experiencing a mental health crisis;
establish a network for cooperation and information sharing between social organisations, local government and private institutions working in the field of mental health support for children and young people.
