Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme for education, training, youth and sport. In 2021, a new edition of the programme was launched, introducing new and exciting opportunities, including learning mobility opportunities for adult learners and staff, as well as long-term accreditation for organisations working in non-formal adult education and other organisations.
The Erasmus+ programme aims to address many of the challenges facing Europe today and in the years ahead, while focusing on key policy priorities.
Erasmus+ projects focus on four main areas:
Inclusion & Diversity
Erasmus+ is designed to be inclusive and provide equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of age or social or economic background. Organisations seeking to make their projects more inclusive can access additional funding to support participation.
Sustainability
Erasmus+ encourages environmentally friendly practices across all projects and promotes education and awareness around sustainable development.
For example, additional funding may be available for low-emission travel, such as travelling by train.
Digital Education
Digital learning is an integral part of the programme. Erasmus+ supports virtual learning activities and provides educational resources for staff looking to develop their digital skills.
The programme also supports online communities such as EPALE, along with many other digital learning opportunities.
Participation
Active participation in democratic life is increasingly important for the future of the European Union.
Erasmus+ gives participants the experience, skills and competences they need to become active and engaged European citizens.
What Opportunities Are Available for Adult Education?
The programme offers several opportunities for both individuals and organisations.
Key Action 1 – Mobility
Key Action 1 supports individuals taking part in international learning mobility activities with host organisations abroad.
Key Action 2 – Cooperation
Key Action 2 supports organisations in their development through the exchange of good practices, cooperation and networking.
