Active Senior – Reliable Senior

In May 2023, Kombinat Social Engagement Association from Radom launched the Active Senior – Reliable Senior project.
The project aims to increase independence and active participation while preventing social marginalisation among 60 seniors aged 55+ from six urban-rural municipalities: Orońsko, Kowala, Skaryszew, Wolanów, Wierzbica and Jastrzębia.
Target Group
The project is aimed at 60 people from rural and urban-rural municipalities, with 10 participants from each of the following municipalities: Orońsko, Kowala, Skaryszew, Wolanów, Wierzbica and Jastrzębia.
The target group includes:
seniors aged 55+ living in the participating municipalities;
people who are economically inactive;
people at risk of digital and social exclusion;
people with disabilities, representing 20% of participants;
people on low incomes.
Priority will be given to people with additional support needs.
Project Activities
1. Internet Safety & New Technology Workshops
10 teaching hours per group
The workshops aim to develop the skills needed to use information and communication technologies safely in everyday life, including the internet, tablets, laptops, computers and smartphones.
Participants will learn about:
basic computer functions, online profiles and communication tools;
finding and evaluating information online;
online security tools and electronic banking;
communication using digital tools and applications;
communicating via email;
civic participation online;
setting up and using an email account;
personal data protection and internet safety.
2. Personal Development & Wellbeing Workshops
The workshops cover memory techniques, memory exercises, building self-confidence, assertiveness and adapting to life changes, such as retirement or children leaving home.
Meetings with a psychologist will focus on increasing participants’ knowledge of preventing health conditions associated with ageing and understanding recommendations for managing health conditions.
Meetings with a physiotherapist or personal trainer will focus on physical fitness in later life and practical ways of maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.
3. Cultural Activities
Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in a trip to the theatre or cinema.
4. Educational Trip to Warsaw
A one-day trip to Warsaw, including a visit to a museum, will provide an opportunity for participants to explore the city and experience culture together.
